Born on May 1856 in Freiberg (Austria), belonging to a Jewish family his position in the family was a little unusual. The whole of Freud’s childhood got passed in Straitened conditions, but the boy had elite intelligence and potential to do hard work. A famous quote that he used to communicate while his childhood was" In my youth I felt an overpowering need to understand something of Riddles of the world in which we live and perhaps even contribute something to their solution. " Starting from subjects such as physiology and biology he started practicing as a physician. Futher continuing what his mind really desired he started working for a hospital as a neurologist.

Starting with electro therapy which did not produced effective results he turned to hypnotic suggestion the method was based on assumptions of hysteria and forgotten memories.

From this moment onwards (1895), perhaps to the very end of his life the whole of freuds intellectual existence revolved around this development, its far reaching implications and its theoretical and practical repurcussions.First and foremost it was none other than Freud who discovered the first instrument for the scientific examinations of human mind. A man who lived a life full of emotions and of much suffering without embitterment. There must in fact have been something extraordinary in this man who was first able to recognize whole field of mental facts which had hitherto been excluded from normal conciousness, the man who firs accepted the facts of infantile sexuality, who first made the distinction between the primary and secondary processes of thinking-THE MAN WHO FIRST MADE THE UNCONCIOUS MIND REAL TO US.

Slip of tongue:
Did you ever notice yourself speaking a wrong word instead of the one which you initially wanted to. Well it's not certainly by chance. Freud depicted that whenever we misspeak a word its cause is directly related to something that might have happened in the past which might be reminding us of something that is important or something that we must attend to urgently. Sometimes common slips of tongue are ploys by our mind to help us forget something remorseful. For detailed explanation refer to book no 1.
